Hi,

I am new to the forum so thank you for having me. I have a 1998 Shogun SWB 3.0 v6 (Gen 2?) which is a 'project' car. Needs a ton of work on the suspension, brakes, brake lines, fuel lines etc to make it road legal. The 4wd needs some work too. So should keep me busy lol.

Not sure if this is the right part of the forum to post, apologies if not.

The good news is it starts and idles pretty well. I will refresh the engine as part of the works.

I wanted to check for DTCs and my understanding is that you connect a multimeter to the single pin in the white diagnostic connector and ground the other side. When I do this I just get a constant 3.9 volts rather than the pulses describing a code.

Is this normal indicating no codes present or is there an issue ? I should also mention that the battery has been disconnected for a long while previously as there is a parasitic draw. I am not sure if that would wipe any codes.

Any help, knowledge or advice greatly appreciated.
