No, but if I know the problem I may be able to help. |

Hi Assassin,
I’ve had the ABS light on for ages, it’s coming up to MOT time so I need to get it sorted. The garage had it for a while but couldn’t fine what was causing it. I guess I’m starting from a scratch so hence why I need a walk through!
Thanks

As my last post explained I tried the 'erase codes' method and got a response and a buzzer that I'm taking to mean "Cannot do that" - the codes remain, but in this case the ABS warning no longer activates.
My working hypothesis since the new year when the truck got stuck up to its axles in mud, and then was active in the floods, is that one (or more) of the electrical connectors suffered water ingress or a wire has been chafed. The recent relatively dry weather has likely given it chance to fully dry out. MOT is in four days so I plan to be crawling underneath later today to check condition of exhaust and other bits and I'll take a look at the connectors (without disturbing them in case I cause a recurrence - I'll open them up AFTER the MOT!) |
