wheel nuts & non-standard alloys

If, like me you have aftermarket alloys (USA 4x4's 15"- very nice) they probably use the coned wheel nuts.

My spare wheel is a mitsi original and should be secured with washered wheel nuts.

If you get a puncture you shouldn't use the coned nuts to secure a washered alloy as there is a risk that the nuts will pull through and the wheel will come off! (don't ask how I know - I'm still sweating and cleaning the mess from my underwear!!)

Carry a set of washered wheelnuts (cost £2 each from mitsi)
