|
|
Hi
Recently had my air con recharged
The fitter asked me if it was dual a/c I said yes
He refilled it with the correct amount of gas for dual a/c taking my word for it
After regasssing he looked in my Pajero and said it is not dual a/c and the rear was only a heater he then reduced the amout of gas in the system
How can I tell if he is correct or not I thought if there is a heater in the back it would automatically be a/c
The a/c is better than it was
Any comments please I know someone will be able to tell me if he is correct or not
Regards

He's a prat!!
The Paj rear aircon is inside the car in the bulge on the offside by the rear door. It has a separate fan which forces the air through the roof vents.
The rear heater is just that - a heater with a recirc type fan, located under the offside seat (middle row).
I suggest you take the car back to him and ask him to put the correct amount of fluid in! |

On a dual system the pipes split 1 pair goes into the cab and the other set run under the car and go in though the floor to the back system |

Wouldnt the system have the same amount of fluid in it regarless of how many aircon units there are? The actual system where the fluid circulates is closed, so you fill it to the full mark. |

No a single system holds 600g-650g of gas and a dual system holds 1000g-1050g of gas there is no full mark or dip stick |

open your boot (Back door)
on the right hand side there will either be a section that looks like it's been put there afterwards with a couple of Vents in it. or it will look similar to the left hand side but wothout the torch and lighter socket. If it has the "vented Bulge" then you have dual A/C.
No idea if SWB's have dual or not :S |

Hi All
Well what a great response
I have learned something else today about a Pajero
Mine does not have the extra bulge in the rear as discribed so I assume the guy was right.
And I thought they were all dual a/c
Thanks again everyone
