hi all,
as you all know becuase of the environmet and the fuel costs, looking for alternative fuels to use at our vehicles.

in my country even "euro diesel" started to import only 10 months ago. there is nothing about Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO), Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO)

my country is hot climate country and lowest temperature that I saw last winter was only 7-8c degree most time of the year is temperature is arround 22-25c degree I think this is positive issue for sva or wvo.

yes the questions are ;

1- does sunflower oil (unused for cook) (straight vegetable oil) can be added not more than 30 % to normal diesel fuel?

2- does sunflower flower oil which mentioned other posts is same as one which used for cooking/frying?

2- if I decide to use waste vegatable oil, is it possible to filter it at home and add it in to diesel fuel?
if yes what is the simple process to manage to preparing wvo at home??

waiting your opinions

Sunflower oil should be OK, but really you want rapeseed oil which is usually bottled as vegetable oil.

If your climate is warm, you should easily be able to use 50% vegetable oil and 50% diesel.

The vegetable oil is the normal stuff you would use for cooking and is just poured straight in to the diesel fuel tank.

in my country it is not easy to find resonable price rapeseed oil in big amounts but it is easy to find waste oil from fast food restaurants and there is a huge olive oil production here.

please someone enlighten to me if olive oil is suitable ?

if not I have only waste vegetable oil option to add my car Exclamation

I think if I use cotton type clothes to filter waste cooking oil it will be ok to use it

cheers

olive oil is a no no
waste oil needs the water boiled out of as any water in it will kill the engine.
and filter it through a filter bag .i got one from a tropical fish shop with a 5 micron rating.
i though diesel was very cheap in cyprus??
do you need to pay tax on the oil like we do????
