I know that this is an old post but this is quite relevant to me. I had a very nasty accident with an angle grinder a couple of weeks ago and remeber seeing a first aid kit under the passenger seat. So I pulled it out and it had 3 antiseptic wipes which were bone dry, a small packet of plasters and a pack of safety pins. God knows how long that had been under there but I've been looking to purchase a proper first aid kit ever since. |

Lloyds Pharmacy sell a Savlon First Aid Kit which is actually inside a very good torch. Cost £3.99. They also do a more fuller kit in a cloth case, at £9.99 and £14.99 dependant on size.
Regards, Chris

The 'Scottish Daily Express' is giving away this kit. Collect 4 tokens and pick it up from Lloyds Pharmacy |

My Paj is used for tugging a Caravan to Motor Racing events, where I go Marshalling.
I've always got 3 kits, 2 decent sized ones, One in the Paj, and in the Caravan. The other is a pocket sized one with small bandages plasters and multi use saline. The pocket sized ones are darn handy for quick on the spot patch ups until a decent kit can be reached.
Best tip I got was from one of the emergency response Docs I know through the sport. He said to check out the supermarkets and cheap shops (Poundshop/Poundstreacher etc) as those kits are just as good, but because they're not expensive, you're more likely to stock them back up. He also made a good point about sterility. A breathing person with a dirty wound is better than a sterile corpse. In a serious accident your priorities are very simple. Get help then ABC AIRWAY is anything stopping them breathing? BREATHING if they aren't breathing after clearing the airway, help them to breath. CIRCULATION stop the bleeding and if there's no pulse, start CPR and don't stop until a doctor gets there. |

Quite true, judging from the state of the remnants. I found dried up antiseptic wipes, tapes with no glue and the only pad in the box that didn't stick. I've now made up my kit with supplies from Boots, so that I can change them as and when required. Rather than invest in a single unit with everything having a close expiration date. |

I purchased mine online from SP Services, and carry enough kit to patch up a small army.
Some things expire, and some things have an advisory date on them - bandages and dressings have a three year shelf life, but that's not to say they won't make a good sling. |

Just thought i'd add this as well.
I do alot of Climbing and mountaineering so i always carry a first aid kit with me when out on the rock or montain. I also carry a smaller kit in the car with me.
For climbing and mountaineering i carry a Mountain Leader Pro kit, this really does have all the kit you could ever want in it. I have a traveller first aid kit in the car as well.
Take a look. Not cheap but great kits http://www.lifesystems.co.uk/

I have three large and varied first aid kits in my paj,
one on each side in the back slid between the folded up rear seat, so they can be seen from outside up against the rear side window, and one int the back in my "Must have, just in case" tool box.
i keep them topped up at all times.
It might be me or my family they get used on one day.
I have enough for a small army.
