RAC do not cover Fuel Contamination - i.e. when I stupidly fiiled my 2.8TD Paj with Unleaded - Duh!!!
The Operators were friendly, helpful and spoke clearly - not something I can say about all Call Centres...
They called out a local recovery contractor who did an excellent job - EGERTONS
so overall despite the long wait - 2 hours, and the fact they did not cover fuel contamination - something you might want to check on your own policy... I was satisfied.
I cant begin to think what I would have done in the situation I was in without the RAC. |

By the way I was given the thread on this site that advised that for BP fuels, particularly ULTIMATE fuels where the petrol and diesel are two shades of blue, I could make a claim for the cost of the mixup. call 0800 402 402 and go to Customer Care - they take your details and say they will call back... they gave me a reference and I am hopeful I might get back the £200 plus it cost me.

and thanks again ukrabbiter... |

I have been with the RAC for a few years now and have always found the service they offer to be friendly, professional and efficient.
Full Marks to the RAC! |

Been an RAC member since 1983 - have used them on numerous occasions and never had a problem. Latest renewal ( IAM discounted) for personal membership - me and hubby in any car, whether we own it or not - £85. That includes a £25 discount for not using the call out last year. |
