So what dont you get if you dont pay up?. For the small percentage of registered members how many frequently read the forums etc etc and how many just have a quick look then are never seen or heard from again. Do they get charged a tenner just to come in and ask what the pitman arm is only to be shoved into the newbie corner?? But of course for me a tenner seems to be very reasnoble |

i'm up for a tenner!! - i saved that from jaycee's advice about a chemical weld for my fuel tank, getting a bull bar for £60, the joke archive must be worth at least that !!!! - all these views, yet only a few votes... what's going on ??
same comments as most on here previously - do guests have to pay? would we end up with just the 40 or so regular names on here being the only members, so restricting advice etc... oh the issues........ i have just been involved with setting up the North Yorkshire Trail Management Advisory Group to liase with green lane users and authorities, and we are also debating subs etc, but, like some have said, compared to the diesel money we spend, £10 per annum isn't huge !! - especially if it buys us a patch of dirt, or maybe a discount at an event - definately up for members agm at trigs - fire up the barbie!!
simon, how about financing funds by publishing green lane guides, which i'm sure quite a few of us could contribute to .... so other people (possibly not members) can buy them for a nominal fee.......just an idea!! many e-books promise that they can make you a millionnaire!!
hope this poll proves positive and is well attended.. |

I agree with those who think a tenner is well worth spending on this site
I know I don't post many opinions or views but being new to the 4x4
world i have found the site and members friendly and informative

Its a good idea Simon and a tenner is f*** all compared to the info you get from these forums.....
Heres an idea though, why dont you only let in (password or whatever) to the forums those that chose to pay the £10 and keep out those that are to tight to help contribute to the running of the club, after all, we must be the only free club going and if you notice, we get alot of Shogun users in here also *snigger |

I have already paid my voluntry tenner as requested a while ago .How many others coughed up then Simon? I would have no problem paying an annual sub but fear we may end up with a small club of die hards. Which may not be a bad thing depending on your point of view. |

I was only too happy make a donation to the club. The amount of information and help from this club has been absolutely fantastic , and a tenner a year is peanuts compared to the value of the technical help which is available from all the forum members.
Could you put a pop-up on the forum which asks the members to consider a contribution to the club funds when they log in ? This would still be volantary of course , but it would serve to remind those people who would like to donate money but have just forgotten about it .
Cheers

That's a debatable question. Things always work out in a 80-20 rule. So 80% profits from what 20% of us do.
There's another rule: 95% are have-nots and will always be, the rest divide 95% of all posessions amongst each other.
Now, can you come up with an 'honest' way to make use of free information and make it interesting enough so that people want to pay for it?
My suggestion: make a kind of public hall of fame where someone who made a contribution of some kind is honoured. People love recognition. And let the rest contribute what they can. |

Why not do a section so that you can pay subs by credit/debit card with the inclusion of 6% for the card company i.e £11.00.
I never use a cheque book have written two cheques in the last five years hate sending them in the mail and pay everything by electronic banking.
The more options to pay the easier it is to get the money.
