I'm doing my best to avoid it, but what would you lot think about a tenner a year club subscription?

The club costs around £500.00 a month to run, which is just about covered with the small profit from handbook sales and insurance commissions, but the club could do with a cash injection to give it a boost!

I should categorically state that the club is in no danger of going under! It's just that I would like to do more to promote and develop the club, but can't easily finance that side of things on my own.

There are no definite plans in place to enforce a subscription at this time, I'd prefer to keep it voluntary, but I was just wondering?

If you're feeling generous, (and a number of you already have been Wink ), you can make a voluntary contribution in the club shop <-- click here

Thanks,

Simon.

Yep I am up for a tenner, when do we form the club on an offical footing, appoint a committee, set a meeting, discuss with all members the constitution of the club, where and when would the club committee meet, would it be in the south, midlands, north, jersey, isle of man !!Trigs place (yes please) dean down unders house,

Who would be chair, who would be tresuarer, who would be on the committee,

Just thought I would start what is going to be a great debate, but as I think it will not happen, you can still have me tenner, so long as the club keeps going, save that every month in info etc.

Let the debate start.

I'm up for that.... Come to think of it, I've paid that in voluntary subs anyway, so what the heck, make everyone else pay as well.

As for a formal committee etc. etc.... count me out of it. Too much like hard work and hassle.

I'd agree with that Very Happy ........can I suggest that you set a starting date for existing members and I would also like to see a regularly updated list of those members that have paid.......can you tell us how you are going to administer the subs charge Question.......if its not compulsory, you will not get many contributions Simon Sad

you already know my feelings on the subject Simon......

as for the 14% who totally oppose the idea, I would ask how many of you have used info from this site and by direct consequence, saved money.......need I say more

what exactly does a tenner get you nowadays?...or less than 20p a week even!

If you do go the way of subs Simon, you will obviously need to preclude non-members from accessing the archives of Pocuk?

I would also like to see some posts from those who are against the idea of subs just to get an idea of exactly what their argument is....personally, I cannot think of any apart from a fear of annual rising subs that might become prohibitive to some at a future date.

The money we all spend on fuel a year a tenner should'nt harm anybody 8)
Perhaps the club could even end up with its own bit of mud Smile

Gotta go for it Wink

Dont know where the club will go with a real budget... but it has to be woth a sub, it would have to be access limited to work, only fools like us pay up voluntarily, but, would it be possible for new members to get, say free access for 4-6 weeks, get them hooked, see the value, then cut them off if they dont cough up.

Cheers
