OK...I am a newbie...in fact a very newbie so please if you can bear with me.

I am looking for a 3 door 4x4, and have driven a few shoguns, disco's and 4x4s and HAD decided on the Shogun, then when browsing the ads in autotrader noticed some ads for Pajero's.....obviously I now know these are Jap imports, but I have a couple of really simple questions;

1 Is the Shogun and the Pajero basically the same or are there fundamental differences?...if so what are they?
2 Will a Mitsi dealer or specialist be able to service the vehicle or do I need to go to a Pajero specialist
3 From what I can see the prices are about 20-25% lower than similair Shoguns...is this right.
4 Anything else I need to know?

Thanks in advance

Mark

Yes, although the Pajero is generaly of a higher spec than the Shogun.

2 Will a Mitsi dealer or specialist be able to service the vehicle or do I need to go to a Pajero specialist.

Any garage will be able to service the Pajero, you will find the local cheaper than a main dealer, known on here as the main dealer !!, but if you buy from one of the importers, they will be able to look after it for you.

3 From what I can see the prices are about 20-25% lower than similair Shoguns...is this right.

yes, they are normaly lower milage as well, although the mileometer is in Kilometers.

4 Anything else I need to know?

Yes, how to control a big wide smile as you drive it.

read some of the forums etc, events, drives etc.

If you update your location in the profile, you may get a local member to have a look with you, or show you his Pajero to get some idea.

happy hunting

Hi all. My first post as a potential owner.

The answers above help a lot. My biggest struggle is persuading the wife that £4500 for a 1992 or 1993 SWB is good value when I have a 1993 car and can get a 1999 car for the same money! Any angles would be helpful!

I already have the spec and generally lower mileage up my sleeve but anything else?

Cheers Bill. She did say last night we should have a look at one (a friend has one) so may be promising! Laughing

One word............. MILEAGE!!!

I know it was a deciding factor when choosing which 4x4 to go for. Most of the 10 year old Pajeros have less than 50K miles on the clock Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
