thinking of buying a Pajero, read somewherre that Jap diesels run on 'different' diesel to U.K, any truth in this ?
Also seen a few that give out quite 'black smoke' is this an easy fix. Engine etc seems fit and healthy enough, a few of the owners have said it's just the 'filter' what / where would this filter be ??
Regards,
Steve |

hiya steve, welcome to THE family.
You dont say where you are, can help with Q's.
anyway, Smoke, in jap land they like the accelaration, (joke) so they turn the screw on the mixture, more fuel, more speed, more speed, more smoke.
Easy to turn down.
Their deisel aint as 'clean as ours so the system will have a few extra visitors, again just add some cleaner stuff.
When you buy one a good tip is to have it serviced ASAP.
Belts,(dep on model)
oil, air and fuel filter.
grease all the joints
Then go to the doctor and see if he can remove the smile.
Buy one, you will enjoy.
again welcome,
Bill |
