Hi
I have just bought a V reg LWB 3.2Di-D paj with the LCD screen which is currently blank.
The orig radio has been removed and a fancy kenwood one fitted which i would like to keep as its got a USB input for MP3 files etc.
Under the passenger seat i have the nav unit, i ejected the cd which is MR438853 version 8.3N but the disc is very badly scratched.

Im not too fussed about getting the satnav working as by what i gather it wont work in the northern hemisphere, or gives a inaccurate reading.
But what i would like is to get the display to show the Air-con and compass features.
Do i need the orig mitsi radio for this?
Can i keep my Kenwood radio for the audio and mount a orig mitsi radio in the glovebox or something to get the air-con display?

Has anyone got a copy of the MR438853 cd or one which will work and a orig radio for sale?

I dont have the rear camera, and i dont think i've got the tv tuner. I looked where the 7th seat folds out and removed the little section of trim that covers the left hand seat hinge but could not see anything. Do you have a photo of the mounted tv tuner?

Thanks.

if you change the radio then you wont have the tv button so that function wont work.

when you plugged in the dvd player did the screen change automatically or did you press the tv button?  if it changed automatically then you may have a chance of using the system without the tv button.

the screen is rolling because the dvd player is outputting in pal format which refreshes at 50hz the japanese use ntsc which refreshes at 60hz, so have a look on the dvd player menu to see if it can output in ntsc.  if not run an extension lead outside and take out your dvd player from in the house, make sure you change the settings on it first.  this is why i told you earlier in the thread to make sure what ever you buy can output in ntsc.

but im well green eyed you got the tuner, you can do a few different thinks now.

on a down note, with your phone /dvd player running put the car into drive and put the handbrake down, the picture may or may not disappear. it will in tv mode but maybe not in aux mode.   dont dispair to much though there is a way around this.

if you put that in then you have to put it in instead of the original radio as that site item has fm receivers etc so its designed to replace the origianl in car stereo.

i have bought a motorised screen with 2 camera inputs and an av input, but this only has three power wires where as the thng your looking at will have power wires speaker wires and all sorts.  if you just want a screen maplins do one for about 80 notes.  when its all up and running i will post pictures.

if you do fit a non oem radio be sure to put your tv tuner on ebay.    Wink

did the screen work without rolling when you used a different seting?

make sure the dvb box outputs in the correct format.

did you check if the screen goes out when driving using the aux inputs?

i would use the ariel that comes with the dvb

can you do me a favour now, as this thread was created to give as much info on the mmc as possible, will you post a couple of pictures of the tv tuner so that others checking out this thread can see what it looks like (myself included).  i ask this as many people search the net for answers on the mmc and hear lots about the tv tuner but never get a glimpse at what it looks like.

i think at the moment you can be considred very lucky to have the set up that you do.

forgot to say
followed the wires from the rear camera and they go down the drivers side
the tv tuner is on the passanger side
so dont think the camera goes to the tv tuner
