High peeps, thinking of buying a Shogun/Pajero . I would like any information you can give me on the different years/ models available, my main concern being the dpf problems, and dmf. An auto gets rid of the dmf, but are there any problems with the auto box ? Are the early diesels more reliable than the new ones ? How about from 2010 onwards , have they got problems with dmf / dpf. I really like these cars and would appreciate any help you clever people can give me, in deciding whether or not to get one, or another brand of 4x4. Many thanks.

I agree with Jutwit. It's also well worth spending a few hours in the 4M41 / 3.2 (DiD) models section of this forum reading the posts. You'll soon get a very good 'feel' for the vehicle.

Bear in mind that owners of newer models tend not to be as keen on DIY as those with 20 year-old vehicles, so the forum is not as well populated with posts relating to newer ones.

If you do get close to buying one, this checklist might come in handy: Pajero buyer's guide
